Vani is a diagnostic imaging physics resident in the class of 2023. She completed her master's degree in Medical Physics from Duke University Medical Physics Graduate Program in 2021. Her master's research involved constructing RF coils for MRI. Vani is from New Delhi, India, where she completed her undergraduate education in Physics. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, swimming and dancing.

Raj is an imaging physics resident with the Clinical Imaging Physics Group (CIPG) and a research associate with the Center for Virtual Imaging Trials (CVIT) at Duke. Raj has sampled four continents which accommodate nearly 78% of global population, including Asia, Europe, Oceania and North America. He grew up in Nepal and earned undergraduate degree in radiological science from the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Nepal. He earned his 1st master degree in medical physics from the Bharathiar University, India, and worked as a therapy medical physicist at advanced center for radiation oncology, Nanavati Hospital, India. He earned his 2nd master degree in medical physics and bio-medical optics from Heidelberg University, Germany. He came to Duke University to conduct his master thesis work. He earned his PhD from the University of Otago, New Zealand from where he completed his postdoc and research fellowship. He also worked as a research engineer at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston before he came back to Duke last year. His current research focuses on developing realistic virtual model of photon-counting CT, improving imaging performance of the system, and optimizing imaging protocols to study a variety of disease models through a virtual clinical trial. In his spare time, he enjoys listening music, cooking authentic south Asian cuisine flavored with spices and herbs, hiking, biking and playing with his two energetic kids.
